Chapters 4-7

Perspective: scout

its summer again and i feel that this is a good, hot, and boring summer day. when i went home i saw something shiny in the oak tree being a girl i had to grab it. it was gum. i sniffed and licked it to see if it wasn't poisoned or anything. when Jem got home he asked where i got it. i said from the Radly house. he then made me spit it out. i came up with the idea of rolling in a tire jem pushed me really hard because i argued with him about "hot steams" when the tire stopped and i popped out i found myself in front of the Radly house. i was scared out of my wits. i was sure that Boo was laughing in the house. then Jem yelled at me for becoming a lady. then we came up with a game called the Boo Radly game. in it we reenact the scenes that we know or came up with. everything was going fine until Atticus caught them.

Jem and Dill have grown closer so i need a friend i chose Mrs. Maudie as my friend. she had a lot of info on Boo. she said that he was very polite.but he might have gotten insane from being alone. i disagreed when Jem and Dill tryed to get him out.

Perspective of Jem

when i was born our maid and cook Calpurnia joined our family. later in my life i saw a boy and he told us to call him dill. he wanted to be our freinds but we didnt want to be until he told us about the dracula movie he saw. we have been best freinds since.the thing about Boo Radly is that all of the storys about him are bad like when Boo stabbed his father in the leg. the scary part of that summer was when i was dared to touch the Boo Radly house. i walked there slowly but i panicked and ran like all of the nightmares of my life were chasing me. i slapped the side of the house and ran back again. when i got at the front gate my heart was pounding out of my chest.

the end of summer

we are back in school it's scouts first day of school but i don't want her to ruin my reputation. during lunch i saw scout beating up Walter Cunningham. i pulled her off and invited Walter for lunch. i told scout that she should behave and not beat up walter anymore she didnt want to but she did it anyways

perspective: Mrs. Dubose chapter: 10-12


I was sitting on my porch when the ungratful kids of atticus came adjacent to each other and the girl said "hey mrs. dubose." i yelled at her saying that she should say good morning mrs. dubose. then she tried to give me a debate about how lady like she has to be. i got her brother really mad by saying that their father is a nigger- lover. i feel that that stament was ingenuous. when i saw my garden again all of the flowers on top were chopped off and there was a dirty snapped baton in the middle. i was horrified. i made him read to me for a month after his school at the beginning of each read they tried to isolate me by staying away but i brought them closer. i couldn't hear him most of the time because i was having one of my fits. so i had to entrust to Jessie so they don't escape the more he reads the better i feel so i kept him a little longer everyday. by the end of the month i had broken my addiction and have finished my life. but it took so much out of me that i died in front of Atticus meanwhile he said that i was so brave.

QUESTION 1:What has surprised you in the book? Why?
RESPONSE 1:I was surprised that Clary and Jace are in love their the 2 siblings of the story their in love because their mom and dad have kept them apart too long. This surprises me because when Jace found his greatest fear it was Clary dieing, " I could feel her heart beat missing beats, shutting down."

QUESTION 2:Do you think you would read another book by this author? Why or why not?
RESPONSE 2:I think that I would because the books are detailed, easy to understand, and the characters are established well at the beginning and you discover more about them later in the book.

QUESTION 1:4. What character do you like most in this book and/or what character do you like least? Why?
RESPONSE 1: my favorite charicter is Jace because he is the most like me and out of all the children he can hide his emotion the best, another thing about him is that he has killed more demons than any kid his age. the person that i hate the most is Valentine, in the book Valentine is the "bad guy." he is hated by the clave and wants to destroy it.

QUESTION 2:14. What other character(s) beside the main character is really important to the story? How and why?
RESPONSE 2:some other people that are important to the plot are Simon him and Clary have been best friends for 10 years and he has a crush on Clary at the end of the book they start to go out. at the end he also turns into a vampire. Another person is Valentine even though he is the person that i hate the most in the book he plays a huge part without being a main character he is the main character's father.

QUESTION 1:What does this book make you wonder about? Why?
RESPONSE 1:the book The City of Bones makes me wonder about all the things that the human race made about the mythical creatures like vampires and werewolfs. What if they are different than we think and can control when they transform into a wolf or a bat. The reason I thought this is because in the book the people are normal just with a diseases. The only evil things that are in this book are demons.

QUESTION 2:How did what you read today make you feel? Why?
RESPONSE 2: it made me feel like there are more mysteries to the world than most people think and that most people are simpleminded and can't see all the mysteries that are right in front of their faces. Another thing in this book is that the mundanes cannot sense the demons or any of the mysteries that are happening around them.

For this project, I would like to read The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I chose to read this book because I have read the other 2 books in the series. In the series there is a type of people who call them self the Shadowhunters, they hunt and kill demons while that happens a person called Valentine is setting up an army. His children are Clair and Jace and they have special abilities like jumping up 30 feet in the air and creating powerful runes. A rune is a drawing that if it is drawn strange things happen.
