What things are you having trouble adjusting to on the island that are different
from your life at home in England?

At England I didn't have to take care of the littleuns, also I didn't have to stand up to jack.

How do you feel about the littluns?

I feel that the littleuns are just using up food but if we want to survive longer we have to take care of the littleuns

What do they do with their time?

They play in the sand and don't work.

Why do you paint your faces?

I never painted my face because I'm not a hunter.

What does this foreshadow?

That when they put the masks on they thirst for blood and war will break out.

How do you feel when your face is painted?

I never had my face painted.

Why doesn’t the passing ship see you on the island?

The hunter let the fire go out.

Why was the fire allowed to go out?

They were too thirsty for blood.

What other crisis develops regarding the fire?

I got punched in the stomach and one of my lenses got smashed.

What do you predict will happen next on this island?

I think that the hunters will go nuts and we will go into war.

I thought that this was a good island but after the forest fire it seems that it let me down

My plan is to stay alive and when someone comes we will get his attention

Yes.
how do you start a fire and what happened to the fire?
To start a fire you use some glasses to focus the sun onto a leaf or whatever and hold it until it caches on fire the fire that we did rose then fell
what happened to the boy with the mark?
We think that he fell into the fire.
How are you different from the other boys?
I like to take control and keep order.
What is going through your head are you afraid excited indifferent
I am guilty and afraid and sorry for the little boy.

lotf chapter 1

Simon's diary

I just woke up from the crash and thought that was a a rough landing. I look out the window and see fire, behind that trees. I noticed from the traces that our plane has crashed. Now I am thoroughly spooked. Where am I, how did I crash, is everyone OK am I OK? These thoughts swirled around my head. I open my eyes to see another choir member looking at me with worry in his face the familiar hambone frill then he came into focus and I saw that he was the precentor or Jack Merridew then he was himself and the jerk he is came back. He said that he claimed himself leader and that they should find water and shelter. So the choir goes into the forest and starts climbing a hill. Then Jack starts looking for a water source. Then a deep, piercing sound blasts through the forest startling everyone in the choir. Then another piercing boom goes through the forest again and we start following the sound. Then repeating blasts keep repeating letting us know where it's coming from. Once we make it we see all the other boys who survived the crash. Then we find the kid who has been making those noises. He was somehow making the noises from the conch. I feel that the conch is part of order it managed to get us all organized in one spot. That is also why I also feel that it is keeping us united. He seems like a fair boy and Jack stand up to him him and says that we should start a communion. I can barely hear them talking but I heard that all the adults died in the crash.
